You thought you had to wait until the summer festival for a good cry or a hearty laugh in the theatre, but Central City Opera makes opera mobile! Enjoy the fun anytime, from one singer and a pianist for a small group up to a quartet in a 90-minute program of staged opera/musical scenes. We’ll bring you a program of scenes and arias just right for any occasion, whether it is holiday party entertainment, a corporate event or a community concert.

So This Is Love tells the story of a romantic relationship through music and features two versatile singers and a dynamic pianist. Relive the ups, downs, and all-around magic of love through this eclectic program of songs and duets from opera and music theatre, including selections from Show Boat, La boheme, The Last Five Years, and Manon.

Smooth Operator
Some of the most memorable characters in opera and musical theatre are the smooth operators – the connivers and conspirators. Don Juan, Cleopatra, Delilah, Carmen, Sweeney Todd and others sing some of the most gorgeous arias and duets ever written, plus funny, jazzy, finger-snapping numbers that will leave the audience wanting more from these scandalous schemers.

Isn’t it funny how snippets of songs come to mind when we hear a certain phrase or subject? Central City Opera’s newest cabaret offering, explores this phenomenon with songs from a host of Broadway and Opera favorites from Gilbert and Sullivan to Cole Porter. You don’t want to miss four splendid singers – and a masterful musician at the piano – performing silly, sad, or salacious songs for all occasions.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CABARET SHOWS
- Performance space of 25’ x 15’, preferably a stage
- Piano (recently tuned or tuned for performance)
- (Community performance only) General warm lighting with the ability to focus instruments, if possible. CCO technical director sets and runs lights unless venue requires its own personnel, the expense for which is the responsibility of the presenter.
TERMS FOR COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS
- Presenter retains all ticket revenue, provides all front of house personnel and services, and local publicity.
- Central City Opera provides press kits, flyers or posters and printed programs.
