The Central City Opera magic is already unfolding in the Colorado mountains! We’re more than halfway through the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program, featuring 27 incredible singers this season.

What makes the Central City Opera Festival truly special? It’s watching emerging talent evolve into polished artists through our intensive 10-week training program. This program is an integral part of Central City Opera’s annual Summer Opera Festival. It selects from a pool of nearly 1,000 applicants. Participants receive vocal coaching with the festival’s expert music staff and attend training sessions in movement and stage combat. Many alumni have gone on to major national and international careers at companies including Lyric Opera of Chicago, Washington National Opera, Atlanta Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, and LA Opera.

Featured Performances and Festival Extras

Where can you witness their talents? Catch members of the artist training program in many areas of Central City Opera’s programming- from their roles in The Barber of Seville, The Knock, and Once Upon a Mattress, to Short Works presentations, Lunch & A Song performances, and the unforgettable one-night only CCO in Concert

Most importantly, don’t miss the spotlight event of the program- Central City Opera’s July 25th Nina Odeschalchi-Kelly Training Artists Matinee performance of The Barber of Seville. In this special performance, Training Artists take the principal roles on stage.

As Central City Opera celebrates its 93rd season, we remain dedicated to fostering the growth of aspiring singers in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. We want to thank the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation for the continued support of this program.
