Calling all current and former Flower Girls and their families for a Yellow Rose Ball Family Reunion in Central City!

On July 12, 2026, join us on the second floor of the historic Teller House for a catered lunch reception before the 2:00 PM matinee of The Ballad of Baby Doe — the quintessential Colorado opera, commissioned by CCO seventy years ago and as timeless as the mountains that surround it.

Baby Doe’s story is Colorado’s story: ambition, beauty, heartbreak, and resilience set against the backdrop of the silver boom. And the Yellow Rose Ball has always been part of that same tradition — a celebration of Colorado’s spirit, passed from one generation of families to the next.

We meant it when we welcomed you to our Central City Opera family at the Announcement Tea — your family’s participation in this program means a great deal to us, and this felt like exactly the right summer to bring everyone back together.
