“Central City Opera warmly welcomes you to immerse yourself in a timeless tradition, brought to life by the exceptional talents of our cast and orchestra on December 23 and 24,” says director Daniela Guzmán- Égüez. “We promise an experience that will resonate deeply, filling your heart!”

An encouraging story about kindness, generosity, community, and hope, “Amahl and the Night Visitors” tells the story of Amahl, a shepherd boy who has a propensity to tell tall tales, and his mother. Amahl’s most recent story is about a star with a tail that moves across the sky like a chariot on fire. When three splendid strangers knock on the door and ask to rest in their tiny home, Amahl is thrilled and fascinated. When the visitors describe the miraculous child they are seeking, both Amahl and his mother are moved to give reverence to the child as well. Their humble faith conjures a miracle.

Central City Opera, known for its commitment to excellence, is elated to breathe new life into this classic. The performance boasts a remarkable cast, including Brian Ericson as Amahl and Jennifer DeDominici as his mother. Under the directorial vision of Daniela Guzmán- Égüez and the musical guidance of Brandon Eldredge and Steven Aguilo-Arbues, audiences can anticipate an arresting production. A unique aspect of this performance is its setting – the Central Presbyterian Church in Denver. The historic and grand architecture of the church amplifies the ambiance, transporting audiences to the heart of the story.
