We’re two veteran companies that “certainly don’t act our age.”

With a combined local history of 150+ years, Central City Opera (CCO) and Denver Philharmonic Orchestra (DPO) are seasoned anchors of the Colorado music scene, but this exciting partnership brings fresh ears to some of the most stunning compositions ever written. We know great music!

Audiences can engage with The Mozart Requiem beyond the concert hall with DPO’s signature “More Than Music” activities before and after the event, and they can relish the work’s sordid history at a preview screening/discussion of the film Amadeus at the Ross-Cherry Creek Branch Library, November 2. It’s a chance to tap into the mystery behind Mozart’s life and his intriguing, unfinished composition.

“The great composer’s final work — in fact, he did not even complete it before his death — is one of the finest vocal-orchestral masterpieces ever created. It is at once heartbreaking, fiery and consoling,” says DPO Music Director Lawrence Golan

Featuring a powerhouse lineup of Central City Opera soloists, the wonderful Denver Philharmonic Orchestra and a young, talented chorus from Performing Arts Academy, the concert showcases a broad group of local artists

“Collaboration is one of the core values of the performing arts,” says CCO General/Artistic Director Pelham “Pat” Pearce. “Central City Opera is thrilled to partner with Denver Philharmonic Orchestra and the Performing Arts Academy to bring this extraordinary music to audiences in the metro Denver area.”

Don’t miss incredible collaboration at work in the heart of Denver, November 15 and 16
