More Information

The beginnings of the Central City Opera Endowment was realized from the lease of the Teller House to a Swiss gaming firm when gambling was approved by the State of Colorado in 1991 for the communities of Black Hawk, Cripple Creek, and Central City. The Teller House holds Colorado Gaming License #1 and was the first casino to open in the state.

The historic annual growth average since inception for the CCOEF is about 7%.

A generous family foundation has stepped forward and graciously agreed to make the lead gift to this campaign as a matching grant of up to $10,000,000. This foundation will match, dollar-for-dollar, all cash gifts to the CCOEF.

The match is good through December 31, 2023.

In an effort to inspire giving to the campaign while avoiding a negative impact on operating revenue, this foundation will also contribute to the CCO Annual Fund in the amount of 10% of all cash gifts going into the Endowment (i.e. a $500,000 cash gift made to the Endowment in 2021 will yield a $500,000 match to the Endowment Fund for a total of $1,000,000 AND a $50,000 gift to CCO’s Annual Fund for that year).

All gifts to the Voice Your Dreams Campaign are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Please consult your financial advisor for clarification and confirmation.

Gifts to the CCOED are NOT eligible for the Colorado Enterprise Zone Tax Credit. Please contact Elisabeth Boyce, Development Operations Coordinator, if you have questions regarding this exclusion.

Planned gifts/bequests are counted as part of the overall goal of the campaign, but are not matched unless they are realized as cash into the Endowment before December 31, 2023.
