Auditions for Ensemble for WEST SIDE STORY: A semi-staged production by BOULDER PHILHARMONIC/CENTRAL CITY OPERA
The production period is April 20-29, 2018 with two performances: 1) Saturday evening, April 28 at Mackey Auditorium in Boulder; 2) Sunday evening, April 29 at Lone Tree Arts Center. Rehearsals will begin the evening of Friday, April 20 and will continue from April 21 through 27 primarily in the afternoons and evenings. Rehearsals will primarily take place in Boulder.
Please note that this is a semi-staged production focused primarily on the score and some of the dialogue. There will be some blocking and no dance. Music Director is Michael Butterman; Stage Director is Bob Neu.
When: Sunday, October 22 from 1:00-7:00 PM
Where: Boulder Piano Gallery – 3111 Walnut Street, Boulder
What to bring: A standard piece of music theater repertoire that shows your legit voice and range. This is not a belt show. Please also bring THREE copies of your resume and THREE head shots.
An accompanist will be provided.

Please note that the following roles have been pre-cast: Tony, Maria, Anita.
We are seeking 12 men and 4 women. Men’s roles will include Riff, Bernardo and Officer Krupke and the ranges are suitable for tenors and high baritones. Krupke is a non-singing role. Women’s roles are appropriate for sopranos and mezzos.
You should be:
- a superior vocalist with professional credits
- a strong actor
- age appropriate to this show (you should read late teens to mid 20s)
You do NOT need to be a dancer.
All roles will be paid.
Since this is a concert presentation, Equity and non-Equity members are welcome to audition.
