The Houses on The Hill: CCO’s Preservation of Colorado History

Did you know that Central City Opera owns more historic properties than any other nonprofit organization in Colorado? With over 30 properties in Central City, including the opera house and Teller House, CCO keeps these houses maintained so that they may be housing for our Principal Artists, Festival Staff, and Young Artists during the Summer Festival Season.

Thanks to the Central City Opera Guild, the Colorado State Historical Fund, and generous donors like you, CCO has been able to restore many properties in the last few years including the exterior of Nicholas House and a new roof and façade for the iconic Teller House.

While we are proud to keep Central City a timeless wonder in the mountains of Colorado, the costs to do so remain a challenge. That is why your support not only creates world-class opera but also cultivates the opera sensations of tomorrow, educates our community, and provides funding to keep Central City’s history intact.

Please support Central City Opera on Colorado Gives Day (December 6, 2016).
