Kern and Hammerstein’s popular musical features favorites like “Ol’ Man River” and “Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man.” Innovative for its time, this story of the workers on a Mississippi show boat combines the lightness and spectacle of musical theater with serious themes of racial prejudice and tragic love. Show Boat is being performed only in Denver, at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.
Matinees at 2:00 pm: August 10, 11
Evenings at 7:30 pm: August 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
Performed in English.
Running time 2 hours, 24 minutes with one 20-minute intermission.
