THE DENVER ANTIQUES SHOW AND SALE CELEBRATES 29 YEARS IN APRIL, 2011
Denver, CO (March 30, 2011) – The committee of the Denver Antiques Show and Sale announced today that it will observe its 29th Anniversary Show by welcoming the general public to celebrate Denver’s unique and vibrant antique community at The Collection, 899 North Broadway in Denver, Colorado.
“We chose The Collection to host our Show and Special Events this year, beginning with our fabulous Patron Party, on Thursday, April 28,” said steering committee member Jodi Sorensen. “Denver has such a dedicated antiques market, consisting of collectors and connoisseurs of all ages that we decided to organize our popular event at The Collection, rather than bring our out-of-town dealers into the mix. Best of all, for this year’s Show visitors, there is no entry fee, nor admission cost to shop this year during the three days of the Antiques Show.”
“We are extremely pleased to host the Denver Antiques Show and Sale at The Collection this year,” said Susan Hildebrand, owner of The Collection, located at 9th and Broadway. “We are donating 10% of all sales during the Patron Party evening and throughout the entire weekend of Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 to the Show’s beneficiary, the Central City Opera House Association. We’re also delighted to announce that Colorado Homes & Lifestyles is joining us as the Show’s Media Sponsor,” Hildebrand added.
The Collection, at 9th and Broadway in Denver, Colorado opened its doors in 1999 and quickly became the destination for top interior designers and customers with discriminating taste. Representing 60 merchants, dealers and artists who shop world-wide to bring to Denver their exquisite individual talents and collections, The Collection will satisfy the desires of the Show visitors. This eclectic assortment of antiques, fine furnishings, rugs, lighting, original artwork and decorative arts are displayed in beautifully appointed vignettes throughout a 15,000 square-foot showroom.
The Collection, located at the corner of 9th & Broadway, will be open for visitors on Friday, April 29 from the hours of 10 am until 6 pm, on Saturday, April 30 from 10 am until 5 pm, and on Sunday, May 1 from 11 am until 5 pm. There is no admission cost and parking is free and plentiful.
The Denver Antiques Show and Sale, has long been considered the highest caliber antiques Show in Colorado, showcasing renowned international and national dealers who exhibit a vast array of fine antiques appealing to both the connoisseur and the new collector. Each year visitors discover exquisite examples of European and American period furniture, fine vintage jewelry, Victorian majolica, American Indian and Western art, silver, antique maps and prints, Oriental rugs, European bronze statuary, fine art.

The Show kicks off with a Patron Party on Thursday, April 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at The Collection.Patron Party guests will enjoy an elegant cocktail buffetand are afforded the first look and buying opportunities in this wonderful social atmosphere. Tickets to the Patron Party are $150 per person or $60 for persons age 35 and under. Complimentary valet parking is available.
The popular Lecture Luncheon is scheduled at The Collection on Friday, April 29, at 11 am with featured speaker Dr. Carol Goldstein, an expert on 18th and 19th Century Chinese furniture and accessories. Her lecture is entitled, “The Value and Beauty of Chinese Antiques.” Dr. Goldstein, owner of Asian Treasures at The Collection, will graciously donate 10% of her sales to the Central City Opera House Association to the Lecture Luncheon attendees who purchase items during the Show weekend.
