CENTRAL CITY OPERA AND THE COLORADO SPRINGS CONSERVATORY ANNOUNCE DENVER AUDITIONS FOR THE 8th ANNUAL SUMMER PERFORMING ARTS INTENSIVE ON MAY 2nd

 

WHO:              Central City Opera and Colorado Springs Conservatory

 

WHAT:           Auditions to participate in the 8th Annual Performing Arts Intensive, a two-week musical theatre, drama and opera education program. High school students ages 14-19 (either local or out-of-state) are welcome to audition and should prepare two contrasting songs and one monologue. Only 20 of the most talented young performers will be selected!

 

WHEN:           Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

                        (*Auditions will also be accepted by CD/DVD or through YouTube by April 16, 2010.)

WHY:              To be part of the 8th Annual Performing Arts Intensive July 10-24 with 10 days in Colorado Springs and four days in Central City with Central City Opera’s 2010 Festival Staff

 

Denver, Colo.Central City Opera and Colorado Springs Conservatory collaborate for the 2010 Performing Arts Intensive to offer 20 talented teens one of the best and most demanding learning experiences of their young lives.  Students from all over the state of Colorado, as well as students from around the nation, will have the opportunity to audition to participate in the two-week Performing Arts Intensive, July 10-24, 2010. Those who are selected to attend are actively immersed in dance, literature, theater and music.  For 10 days they live and work on the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs campus, followed by four days in Central City interacting with and learning from the 2010 Central City Opera Festival Staff. During this process, they study with faculty from the Colorado Springs Conservatory, prestigious visiting teaching artists and Central City Opera artistic personnel. Potential high school participants, either local or from out-of-state, can visit www.centralcityopera.org or www.coloradospringsconservatory.org for more information including audition requirements and cost.  Those interested in auditioning, must call the Colorado Springs Conservatory at 719-577-4556 to schedule a time in advance.

 

Colorado Springs Conservatory
