7th Avenue Historic District
Primarily built from the 1890’s to the 1930’s, the East 7th Avenue Historic District is the largest in Denver with its boundaries stretching from Logan Street to Colorado Avenue, and from 6th Avenue to 8th Avenue. Between Steele and Harrison Streets, the district is limited to the 7th Avenue Parkway. Today the East 7th Avenue Historic District retains much of its original character and charm and continues to thrive as one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city. Pre-WWI construction styles were primarily Mediterranean Revival, Neoclassical, and Colonial Revival, though the district is home to quite a variety of architectural styles that lend to its unique character. All homes on the tour are considered historically significant, yet have been updated to meet the demands of modern living while meticulously preserving many unique characteristics of each home.
Central City Opera House Association Guild (CCOHAG) was established in 1974 to assist Central City Opera, the fifth-oldest opera company in the United States, with historic preservation, education, cultural and social events, and fund raising. Its many programs include: Take a Child to the Opera Days, the Opera House Gardens, Victorian home preservation, Apprentice Artist support and opera preview dinners.
