Please be our guest for a very special viewing of the PBS Great Performances film Moby-Dick, an opera by Jake Heggie with libretto by Gene Scheer, based on Herman Melville's novel.

AND treat yourself to a sneak preview performance of Central City Opera's 2014 Festival production Dead Man Walking by our Ensemble Artists before the film with an introduction by General/Artistic Director Pat Pearce.

FREE admission to the film; RSVP with the event code "MOBY" as seats are limited. Pre-performance brunch in the Augusta Room and cocktails in V’s Lobby Lounge available for purchase.

Moby-Dick was commissioned by The Dallas Opera to commemorate their inaugural season in the Winspear Opera House. The opera has also been produced by San Francisco Opera, San Diego Opera, State Opera of South Australia and Calgary Opera. In addition, Moby-Dick is scheduled to be performed at Washington National Opera in February/March 2014.

Central City Opera's 2014 Festival includes Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking. Our 2010 production Three Decembers was also written by Heggie & Scheer. Additionally, Gene Scheer has performed numerous times with Central City Opera, most recently as Cap'n Andy in Show Boat.
